Session with Dutch singer-songwriter Aysha de Groot known by the pseudonym Meis is now available. Aysha de Groot is a Dutch singer-songwriter that studied vocal at the popdepartement of the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Meis is the daughter of Marcel de Groot and the granddaughter of Boudewijn de Groot, the love of music was instilled in her from the very beginning.
In her songs, Meis sings about several subjects such as loneliness, illness, the search for self-love and frustration. Her signature style is dark and dreamy, and often highlights the heavy sides of life. In 2021, Meis released her first EP, titled ‘Een’, and was well received in both the Netherlands and Belgium. A new album is bound to follow.
In 2018, she won first place during Amsterdam’s Mooie Noten and was a promising participant in the Popronde. In 2019, she performed as a support act for the Belgian act Bazart, where she met Eefje de Visser. Since then, Meis has been part of Eefje’s live band as a backing vocalist. She is climbing her way up the ladder with her own songs.
We hope you enjoy this session!
