Martijn Bosman (born October 8, 1966) is a Dutch drummer, actor, singer, producer, disc jockey and presenter. As a presenter, he is best known for his work with Supernick, as the disc jockey and host of its various parts. As a drummer, Bosman has worked with well-known artists and groups, including Gotcha!, Guus Meeuwis, Loïs Lane, Venice, Ricky Koole and Kane. Making music is important for Martijn. He has been drumming for over 25 years and can’t imagine a life without. He took lessons for 3 years and after ending up in a fight with his teacher he decided to learn it by himself, play along with records, put his headphones on and go, and also watch a lot of other drummers, that’s what he learned from the most. When Martijn started playing music he was inspired by symphonic rock, such as Genesis, after that jazzrock, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever, and after that surprisingly soul, funk and hiphop became a source of inspiration. Now he listenings to almost everything. Two of his favorite records are Voodoo from D’Angelo and Kid A from Radiohead. For the enthusiast: He plays on Premier drums and Sabian cymbals. Martijn also played with acts such as Beeswamp, Ro & Paradise Funk, Bloem, Dyzack and De Raggende Manne, he has worked as a session musician with Angela Groothuizen, Ellen ten Damme, Jan Akkerman and Saskia Laroo, and has done studio work for Eddy Zoey, Birgit Schuurman, Michelle, Ev’lyne, Wouter Planteijdt, Kirsten and so on. Furthermore, he does not want to leave unmentioned that he participated as a singer alongside Bob Fosko in the Marlboro Flashback tour of the Raggende Manne (the rock – opera Tommy by The Who, in a Dutch translation), that he played in the mega successful theater adaptation of Ja Zuster Nee Zuster ( Ro Theater) and that besides making music he also acts and writes. Drummers that inspired Martijn are Tony Williams, Art Blakey, Stewart Copeland, Phil Collins, John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, Al Foster, Questlove, Dave Grohl, Jerome Brailey and so on. We hope you enjoy Martijn’s session!
