“Fragmentos del Olvido” is a collection of stories and sonorities sewn into different styles and rhythms. Showcasing an eclectic mix of elements such as chamber folk, a cappella vocals, and improvisation, while incorporating traditional instruments like the bombo legüero and cuatro venezolano, the EP is intimate, honest, and daring. Recorded at Tritone Studios (LU) and produced by Mike Butcher (producer of Black Sabbath, Rod Stewart, Jaco Pastorius).
Triana y Luca explore their own identities as migrants and their diasporic Spanish & Latin American roots. Neither grew up playing folk music; but together, they explore stories lost in translation and bring their own contemporary take on traditional music. Their compositions take inspiration from styles like Flamenco, Son Jarocho, Boleros, Rancheras, and música Llanera, while at the same time influenced by their backgrounds in improvisation, jazz, and poetry.
